General
The engine torque generated by the combustion engine is transferred through the dual clutch interface to the dual-clutch transmission. The dual clutch transfers the power from the engine to the transmission.
Function
Power transmission tasks
- Bridging of the dip in engine speed caused by the K1 coupling when starting off:
The double clutch converts the different speeds of the engine and manual transmission into a frictional connection.
- Adaptation of the torque to the driving operation:
Due to various driving conditions, different tractive forces occur. The power transmission changes the torque at the wheels when the engine maintains a constant speed.
- Change of vehicle speed:
Apart from torque conversion, the vehicle speed is also adapted as a result of the rotational speed conversion in the transmission.
- Safeguarding of reverse travel:
The transmission implements reverse travel.
Power transmission components
The power transmission consists of the following components:
- Dual clutch
- Transmission
- Axle drive
- Axle drive
- Differential
- Propeller shafts, drive shafts
