Component Description For Sound System Amplifier Control Unit - GF82.62-P-5010FGA
Model 213 up to model year 2021 with code 811 (High-End sound system)
Shown on model 213.0
Location
The advanced sound system amplifier control unit is located in the trunk on the left behind the side panel on a major assembly carrier.
Tasks
The advanced sound system amplifier control unit has the following tasks:
- Receive signals
- Signal optimization and amplification
- Transmitting signals
Receive signals
The input factors are read in via:
- Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
- Direct lines
Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
The advanced sound system amplifier control unit is a MOST subscriber and receives control and audio signals from the following components:
- Control and audio signals from the head unit (A26/17)
- Audio parameters (e.g. volume, sound) from the head unit
- Control and audio signals from the TV tuner control unit (N143) (with code 865 (TV tuner))
- Interior noise level signals from the driver hands-free system microphone (B25/20) and from the front passenger hands-free system microphone (B25/21) via the head unit for the speed-dependent volume control (SDV [GAL])
- Speed signal from the head unit for the speed-dependent volume control (SDV [GAL])
Direct lines
The following signals are read in via a direct line:
- Power supply via circuit 30T and circuit 31
- Audio muting (mute line) from the HERMES control unit (N112/9) (with code 360 (HERMES UMTS) or with code 362 (HERMES LTE))
- Electrical wake-up
Signal optimization and amplification
- Optimization of input signals through digital signal processing and high-quality sound optimization algorithms (Surround Sound, Easy Listening, Live, 3D Sound)
- Support of stereo and multichannel entertainment channels and announcement channels (e.g. for voice output in voice control system or navigation instructions)
- Amplifying of the input signals and assignment of the output to the speakers
Transmitting signals
The advanced sound system amplifier control unit emits the audio signals at the following speakers:
- Rear woofer (H4/38) via the rear woofer amplifier (N40/14)
- Left front footwell woofer (H4/42) and right front footwell woofer (H4/43)
- Left front door sound system tweeter (H4/68) and right front door sound system tweeter (H4/69)
- Left rear door sound system tweeter (H4/70) and right rear door sound system tweeter (H4/71)
- Left front door sound system woofer/midrange speaker (H4/72) and right front door sound system woofer/midrange speaker (H4/73)
- Center instrument panel tweeter (H4/76) and center instrument panel midrange speaker (H4/78)
- Left rear door sound system midrange speaker (H4/80) and right rear door sound system midrange speaker (H4/81)
- Left front door midrange speaker (H4/86) and right front door midrange speaker (H4/87)
- Left rear shelf surround sound system tweeter (H4/92) and right rear shelf surround sound system tweeter (H4/94)
- Left rear shelf surround sound system midrange speaker (H4/93) and right rear shelf surround sound system midrange speaker (H4/95)
- Left front overhead control panel Center midrange speaker (3D sound) (H4/115) and right front overhead control panel Center midrange speaker (3D sound) (H4/116)
- Center midrange speaker at left center rear (3D sound) (H4/117) and Center midrange speaker right center rear (3D sound) (H4/118)
Function
The advanced sound system amplifier control unit is actuated via the head unit. The head unit also provides all of the menus for user guidance. The software update and diagnosis communication also occur via the head unit.
For the optimized SDV [GAL], the advanced sound system amplifier control unit evaluates the speed signal and noise level in the vehicle interior via the driver hands-free system microphone and front passenger hands-free system microphone.
