Location
The DC/DC converter control unit (1) is located in the rear area of the engine compartment on a holder.
Task
The DC/DC converter control unit (1) consists of an output unit (DC/DC converter) and a logic section. The output unit connects the 12 V on-board electrical system with the high-voltage on-board electrical system. The DC/DC converter enables energy to be exchanged in both directions. The logic section is responsible for communication with other control units and for actuation of the output unit.
The DC/DC converter control unit (1) is connected to the vehicle's network architecture.
The DC/DC converter control unit (1) also processes the following information:
- Circuit status
- DC/DC converter mode request
- High-voltage output voltage/current request
- Low-voltage output voltage/current request
- High-voltage battery voltage
- Voltage, 12 V on-board electrical system battery
- Battery disconnect switch status
- Deep discharge protection status
The DC/DC converter control unit (1) processes these input factors and also sends the following information:
- High-voltage output voltage/current
- Low-voltage output voltage/current
- DC/DC converter mode
- DC/DC converter status
- Fault messages
Function requirements
- Circuit 30 ON
