WARNING Risk of burn injuries,  suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.
Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).    
2 Remove center exhaust system. Engine 264 in model 257
with code 598 (Gasoline particulate filter (OPF) with sensor system)

3 Unclip temperature sensor upstream of the gasoline particulate filter (B163/4) from the retaining clip (1).    
4 Disconnect electrical connection (2).    
5 Unscrew nuts (3) from the heat shield (4).    
6 Remove heat shield (4) with gasoline particulate filter differential pressure sensor (B163/3) downward.    
7 Disconnect electrical connector (5). When installing new gasoline particulate filter differential pressure sensor (B163/3).  
8 Unscrew nuts (6). When installing new gasoline particulate filter differential pressure sensor (B163/3).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 274 in model 213Nut, differential pressure sensor to bracket *BA49.10-P-1013-02G 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 264 in model 213, 257Nut, differential pressure sensor to bracket *BA49.10-P-1014-02P 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 264 in Model 238Nut, differential pressure sensor to bracket *BA49.10-P-1011-02M 
9 Remove click clamps (7) at pressure hoses. When installing new gasoline particulate filter differential pressure sensor (B163/3).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Install new click clamps (7).
Position click clamps (7) in original installation position.
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Pliers for click clamps Fig 2
10 Install in the reverse order.    
11 Read out and delete fault memory.

Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
12 Perform engine test run and check exhaust system in terms of leak tightness.
