General 

The special-purpose vehicle multifunction control unit controls and monitors all the taxi vehicle functions and is located under the right cover in the trunk.

Function 

The special-purpose vehicle multifunction control unit is connected to the network architecture of the vehicle.

The special-purpose vehicle multifunction control unit also forms the interface for communication of the control units that are connected to the network architecture of the vehicle.

To implement the functions, the special-purpose vehicle multifunction control unit also processes the following information:

• Circuit status
• Engine running status
• Vehicle speed
• Direction of travel of vehicle
• Left front wheel speed
• Front passenger seat occupancy recognition sensor
• Driver seat belt buckle status
• Status of front passenger seat belt buckle
• GPS data
• Roof sign mode request (vehicles with roof sign connection for taxi)

The special-purpose vehicle multifunction control unit evaluates these input factors and also sends the following information and requests:

• Two-way radio cut-in active (accessories)
• Roof sign status (vehicles with roof sign connection for taxi)
• Requests:
  • Close central locking system
  • Switch on alarm light functions
  • Switch on interior illumination
  • Switch on warning tone
  • Switch on horns
  • Switch on hazard warning lamps
