Location 

The windshield heater control unit is located on the right in the engine compartment.

In model 223 without 48 V on-board electrical system, the windshield heater control unit is located on the right in the trunk.

In model 223 with 48 V on-board electrical system, the windshield heater control unit is located on the left in the engine compartment.

Task 

The windshield heater control unit receives operation requests for the windshield heater from the climate control unit, transforms the supply voltage, and actuates the windshield heater accordingly.

The windshield heater control unit monitors the function of the windshield heater and transmits corresponding basic data (e.g. power consumption, temperature, or short circuit of the windshield heater) to the climate control unit.
