Oil Pump, Basic Function - GF27.57-P-2001A
Model all with transmission 700.4, 724.0/1
Overview
This document contains information on:
- General
- Function
General
The oil pump generates the oil pressure necessary for the hydraulic procedures in dual-clutch transmission.
In the dual-clutch transmission, friction in the gear sets produces high transmission oil temperatures, particularly in the area of the clutches.
The oil pump ensures constant circulation of the transmission oil so that the heat produced can be dissipated via transmission oil cooling.
Function
In dual-clutch transmissions with electrohydraulic actuation of the shift forks, the primary tasks of the oil pump is to provide the appropriate oil pressure for operating the valves.
In dual-clutch transmissions with electromechanically actuated shift forks, the primary task of the oil pump is heat dissipation.
