Authorization Of Transmitter Key/Mobile Phone, Basic Function - GF80.20-S-1004A
Model All (Light transporter)
Overview
This document contains the following information:
- General
- Transmitter key authorization
- Digital vehicle key authorization (vehicles with vehicle access and drive authorization via mobile phone)
General
Vehicle access and start enable are only allowed with a valid access authorization code.
The drive authorization system checks the authorization of the transmitter key or the digital vehicle key (vehicles with vehicle access and drive authorization via mobile phone). The Digital Vehicle Key can functionally replace the transmitter key.
If the authorization is valid, the drive authorization system approves vehicle access and, where applicable, grants start enable.
After authorization, the following among other things takes place:
- Waking up CAN
- Waking up chassis FlexRay
- Locking/unlocking of vehicle (if requested)
Transmitter key authorization
The authorization of the transmitter key is started as soon as the drive authorization system receives a request to lock/unlock the vehicle or for start enable.
The transmitter key and the drive authorization system communicate with each other via antennas and exchange encrypted data. The transmitter key is authorized if the comparison of these data is defined as valid to the transmitter key.
Digital vehicle key authorization (vehicles with vehicle access and drive authorization via mobile phone)
The authorization of the Digital Vehicle Key is started as soon as it is held to the driver handle or placed in the stowage box/tray in the center console.
The Digital Vehicle Key and the drive authorization system communicate with each other via the near-field communication (NFC) antenna on the driver handle or in the stowage box/tray in the center console. Encrypted data is exchanged as a result. If the comparison of this data is defined as valid for the Digital Vehicle Key, the Digital Vehicle Key is authorized.
NFC describes an international transmission standard for wireless data exchange per radio frequency over short distances (few centimeters).
The following prerequisites must be fulfilled for the use of the mobile phone as a Digital Vehicle Key:
- The mobile phone is equipped with the NFC function.
- The use of the mobile phone as a Digital Vehicle Key has been activated by the service center.
- The access and drive authorization data has been saved in the mobile phone.
Apart from the NFC-enabled mobile phone, a Digital Vehicle Key Sticker can also be used. All functions of the Digital Vehicle Key are then, as previously described, possible with this Digital Vehicle Key Sticker.
