General
The steering wheel electronics allow data exchange between the multifunction steering wheel button groups, the hand detection system control unit (vehicles with capacitive steering wheel) and the steering column tube module control unit.
The steering wheel electronics are located in the multifunction steering wheel itself.
Function requirements
- Circuit 30t
Function
The steering wheel electronics is connected to the network architecture of the vehicle.
The steering wheel electronics receive the following information:
- Steering wheel heater temperature (vehicles with steering wheel heater)
- Operation requests through multifunction steering wheel
- Status of "Hands-off detection" from hand detection system control unit (vehicles with capacitive steering wheel)
The steering wheel electronics assess this information and send e.g. the following information and requests:
- Status of steering wheel heater (vehicles with steering wheel heater)
- Status of "Hands-off detection" (vehicles with capacitive steering wheel)
- Request:
- Steering wheel heater (vehicles with steering wheel heater)
- Circuit 58d (symbol lighting)
- Operation requests through multifunction steering wheel
