General 

The parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit makes it possible to influence functions in the combustion engine control unit.

Various parameterizable function modules have been implemented for this purpose. These ensure correct operation of the combustion engine control unit.

The control units for spark-ignition engines do not support the engine functions of the parameterizable special module (PSM). This means that engine speed control, speed limit, external engine start and engine stop functions cannot be implemented in vehicles with spark-ignition engines or spark-ignition/natural gas engines.

Function 

Engine speed control function 

The actual speed of the engine can be regulated via the engine speed control function.

On the one hand several fixed rpms can be specified, while, on the other hand, the rpm can also be freely adjusted using the push button switches.

For safety reasons, the working speed control function can only be used on a stationary vehicle with the parking brake applied.

Power take-off function 

The power take-off function on vehicles with power take-off is used to control activation of the power take-off.

To prevent damage to the transmission, various conditions can be queried.

Function of speed limit 

The speed limit function can be used to switch on a parameterizable speed limit.

Engine start and stop function 

The engine start and stop functions enable the engine to be started and stopped using the PSM control unit.

The engine start and engine stop functions are also available when the working speed control is active. If, following engine stop, the working speed control is deactivated, external engine start is no longer possible. An ignition change is required to reset the engine start and engine stop function.

Electric step function 

Up to two electric steps can be actuated independently of each other using the "Electric step" function module in the PSM control unit.

Parameterizable options for function enable 

The software includes several options which can be used to activate and deactivate specific function modules and a number of specific functions of these function modules.
