DANGER Risk of fire  /risk of explosion due to short circuit and escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of (burn) injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte/mist, short circuit and arcing. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte or absorption of lead through the skin or body orifices. Risk of death  due to voltage U >= 30 V AC and U >= 60 V DC. No fires, sparks, open flames, or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing, and glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key    
2 Unscrew nuts (1)    
3 Undo Velcro fastener (arrow) and remove cover panel (2) NOTES
When removing the cover panel (2), make sure that the cover panel (2) does not come into contact with the busbar (3).
Otherwise a short circuit will occur which can damage the electrical system.
 
4 Disconnect ground line (4) from backup battery (G1/12) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, ground line to backup battery negative terminal *BA54.10-Z-1005-01KOF 
5 Remove screw/bolt (5) from positive terminal of backup battery (G1/12) and take off together with electrical line (10) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, busbar to backup battery positive terminal *BA54.10-Z-1004-01KOF 
6 Unscrew nut (6) and remove busbar (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, busbar to relay for backup battery *BA54.10-Z-1003-01KOF 
7 Unscrew nut (7) and remove cover panel (8)    
8 Push backup battery (G1/12) toward center of vehicle and remove from battery carrier (9)    
9 Install in the reverse order
