Model All (Light transporter)
Overview
This document contains the following information:
- General
- Unlocking/locking the vehicle.
- Acoustic and visual verification signals
General
The central locking system (CL) controls the unlocking/locking of the vehicle. Actuators in the vehicle doors or in the liftgate unlock or lock the respective locks.
"Global" or "Selective" can be set as the types of unlocking for unlocking the vehicle.
The entire vehicle is unlocked in the case of global unlocking. Opening the rear-end door or the liftgate and the fuel filler flap and socket flap is permitted.
In the case of selective unlocking, the driver's door is unlocked and the fuel filler flap and socket flap can be opened. If the vehicle is subsequently unlocked again, all additional vehicle doors are unlocked and opening the rear-end door or liftgate is permitted.
Unlocking/locking the vehicle
The central locking can be triggered by various control elements or functions.
| Control element/function | Release |
|---|---|
| Transmitter key | Press unlock/lock button on transmitter key. The transmitter key must be authorized. |
| KEYLESS-GO door handle (vehicles with KEYLESS-GO) | Grab hold of and/or pull a door handle. The transmitter key must be authorized. |
| Mobile phone or digital key sticker (vehicles with vehicle access and drive authorization via mobile phone) | Hold mobile phone or digital key sticker to driver handle. The mobile phone or digital key sticker must be authorized. |
| Front inside door handle switch | Actuate unlock or lock switch. When locking via the close switch, the fuel filler flap and socket flap always remain unlocked. |
| Automatic locking | Exceedance of a defined vehicle speed or waiting time (relocking). The function can be manually activated or deactivated. |
| Emergency opening after an accident | Triggered by the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). To facilitate access to the vehicle occupants, auxiliary material, and QR code on the fuel filler flap and socket flap. |
| CL remote door unlocking or CL remote door locking (vehicles with HERMES) | Triggered by Service Center. For the case that, for example, the transmitter key has been locked into the vehicle or forgotten. |
| Liftgate control button (vehicles with remote hatchback locking and KEYLESS-GO) | By pressing the liftgate control button, the liftgate is closed and the vehicle is then locked. The transmitter key must be authorized and its position determined. |
| Liftgate control button (vehicles with EASY-PACK liftgate and KEYLESS-GO) | By pressing the liftgate control button, the liftgate is closed and the vehicle is then locked. The transmitter key must be authorized and its position determined. |
| Liftgate external operation switch (vehicles with KEYLESS-GO) | The liftgate is unlocked by actuating the liftgate external operation switch. The transmitter key must be authorized and its position determined. |
The CL evaluates the respective incoming request and transmits it to the involved control units. These in turn unlock or lock the door locks via the respective CL motor. The opening of the rear-end door or the liftgate and the fuel filler flap and socket flap is approved or blocked.
The driver's door remains unlocked if the CL is locked with the transmitter key even though the driver's door is not fully closed. The entire vehicle remains unlocked in vehicles with KEYLESS-GO.
KEYLESS-GO enables the unlocking and locking of the vehicle and the starting and switching off of the engine without active use of the transmitter key. It is sufficient just to carry the transmitter key. KEYLESS-GO represents a variant of the operation of the CL.
Play protection
No additional actions are executed after 40 CL actions are performed in close succession: The count value is reduced by one every 7 s. The CL can only be actuated again once the count value has dropped below 40.
Electric vehicle
The socket flap, behind which the socket for charging the high-voltage battery is located, is unlocked and locked via the CL.
Vehicles with anti-theft alarm system (ATA)
The ATA triggers an alarm if the driver's door of a locked vehicle is opened with the emergency key.
Acoustic and visual verification signals
All CL actions are indicated to the user via visual and acoustic verification signals.
Acoustic feedback
The acoustic verification signal can be activated/deactivated via the multimedia system. It is output via the horns. The horns are actuated once during locking. No acoustic verification signal is output if a door, rear-end door or liftgate or fuel filler flap and socket flap are still open during locking.
Visual feedback signal
The visual verification signal is output via the hazard warning lights. One flashing cycle is output when unlocking. Three flashing cycles are output when locking.
No visual locking verification signal is output if a door, rear-end door or liftgate or fuel filler flap and socket flap are still open during locking.
