Task
The overhead control panel (OCP) control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
The overhead control panel (OCP [DBE]) control unit on vehicles with CODE LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel) and with CODE FY1 (Theft protection package) is used to accommodate the Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW]) (N26/6).
Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Roof LIN (LIN B13)
Direct line
The overhead control panel (OCP) control unit reads in the signals from the following components via direct lines:
- Rear lamp button
- Interior lamp automatic function button
- Interior lamp button
- Left front reading lamp button
- Right front reading lamp button
- Interior protection button (with CODE LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel) and with CODE FY1 (Theft protection package))
- Tow-away protection button (with CODE LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel) and with CODE FY1 (Theft protection button))
Roof LIN
The overhead control panel (OCP) control unit reads in the signals from the following components via the roof LIN:
- Humidity sensor/light sensor/rain sensor (B38/2) (with CODE HH9 (Semi-automatically controlled air conditioning, TEMPMATIC))
- Humidity sensor/light sensor/rain sensor/sun sensor (B38/3) (with CODE HH4 (THERMOTRONIC automatic air conditioning))
- Signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) control unit (N10/1)
- Automatically dimming inside rear-view mirror/mirror taximeter (A67/2) (with CODE F72 (Automatically dimming outside and inside rear-view mirror))
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors are evaluated by the microprocessor and the relevant components are actuated.

- LED ambiance lamp (with CODE LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel))
- Anti-theft alarm system readiness indicator (with CODE LC4 (Comfort overhead control panel) and with CODE FY1 (Theft protection package))
- Center trunk lamp (E18/1) (model 447.8, 448.8)
- Left front vanity mirror illumination (E14/6) via the left sun visor illumination switch (S138/1) (with CODE FS5 (Illuminated mirrors for sun visors))
- Right front vanity mirror illumination (E14/7) via the right sun visor illumination switch (S138/2) (with CODE FS5 (Illuminated mirrors for sun visors))
- Dome lamp in left front grab handle (E15/10) (with CODE LC3 (Rear grab handle illumination))
- Dome lamp in right front grab handle (E15/11) (with CODE LC3 (Rear grab handle illumination))
- Dome lamp in left rear grab handle (E15/12) (with CODE LC3 (Rear grab handle illumination))

Alarm system LIN
The alarm siren with additional battery (H3/1) (with CODE FY1 (Theft protection package)) is actuated via the alarm system LIN by the integrated anti-theft alarm system (ATA) control unit.
