| 1 | Connect vehicle diagnosis system and read out variant coding from fuel system control unit (N118/3). | When replacing fuel system control unit (N118/3). | |

| 2 | Remove battery of 12 V on-board electrical system. | Engine 279 in model 223 with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) except code ME10 (Hybrid vehicle (plug-in, PHEV)) |

| 3 | Release and disconnect electrical connectors (1). | ||
| 4 | Unscrew nuts (2) and remove fuel system control unit (N118/3). | ||
| 5 | Install in the reverse order. | ||
| 6 | Activate fuel system control unit (N118/3) with vehicle diagnosis system. | When replacing fuel system control unit (N118/3). | |
