Remove/Install Fuel Pump Control Unit - AR47.20-P-5717S

Engine 176, 177.8, 256, 656 in model 223

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Connect vehicle diagnosis system and read out variant coding from fuel system control unit (N118/3). When replacing fuel system control unit (N118/3).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Transfer saved data to new fuel system control unit (N118/3). AD00.00-P-2000-06FR
2 Remove side trim in trunk. Engine 176, 177.8, 256, 656 in model 223 except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) AR68.30-P-4800S
3 Release and disconnect the electrical connections (4).    
4 Remove nuts (5) and remove fuel system control unit (N118/3).    
5 Install in the reverse order.    
6 Connect vehicle diagnosis system and activate fuel system control unit (N118/3). When replacing fuel system control unit (N118/3).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   NOTES
Activate fuel system control unit (N118/3). Malfunctions will otherwise occur.

7 Read out and delete fault memory.

WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when Engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the Engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
8 Perform an Engine test run and check the Engine for proper function.
