General 

The multicontour seat control unit performs the following tasks:

• Inflating and deflating the air cushions in the seat backrests of the multicontour seats
• Control of massage functions, if necessary through actuation of control units for massage functions or vibration motors
• Control of dynamic function (equipment specific)
• Adjusting the stored pressure values when calling up the memory feature and storing the contours
• Shutoff of the respective function if the pressure valve responsible has overheated

Function 

The multicontour seat control unit evaluates signals from the signal acquisition and actuation module to the driving parameters. The control unit contains integrated piezo valves to supply air to the air cushions. To support the spine, depending on the equipment installed, the air cushions in the respective seat backrest can be inflated or deflated through targeted actuation according to the situation. To provide more support, the cushions on the outside of the curve are inflated more strongly when cornering, for example.
