Fuel And Additive Interaction
Deposit control additives may pick up rust, scale, dirt, bugs, water, etc., on the bottom of dirty fuel tanks. Remember to keep storage and vehicle fuel tanks clean. New housekeeping references such as API 1651 and CRC 667 are readily available. Also see TMC RP 33, Diesel Fuel Housekeeping Guidelines.
Used engine oil should never be blended into fuel systems due to possible additive interactions and metal disarmament of emissions catalysts. Additive interaction can lead to fuel filter and/or injector plugging.
