Removal & Installation

CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.
  1. Disconnect battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the glove compartment box.
  3. Remove the right lower instrument panel finish panel.
  4. Remove the lower instrument panel reinforcement.
  5. Remove the heater duct assembly.
  6. Remove the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) electrical connector bolt. Pull the connector from the PCM and position aside. See Fig 1 .
  7. Remove the two PCM bolts. See Fig 2 .
  8. Remove the PCM from behind the instrument panel. See Fig 3 .
  9. For installation, reverse removal procedures. Tighten the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) electrical connector bolt until the red projection appears.
