Test A: All Power Windows Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect power window master switch connector. See POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. On vehicles with quarter glass power latches, measure voltage between ground and power window master switch connector C508 terminal No. 13 (Orange/Black wire). See Fig 1 . On vehicles without quarter glass power latches, measure voltage between ground and power window master switch connector C509 terminal No. 6 (Orange/Black wire). See Fig 2 . If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not greater than 10 volts, repair open in Orange/Black wire. Retest system operation.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Test power window master switch. See POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If power window master switch is defective, replace switch and retest system operation. If power window master switch is okay, repair open in Black wire between power window master switch and ground. Retest system operation.
