Key Programming - Without Using 2 Programmed Keys

NOTE: This procedure is used when customer needs an additional encoded ignition key programmed and 2 programmed encoded ignition keys are not available. If 8 encoded ignition keys are already programmed, this procedure will not allow any more to be programmed. Number of programmed encoded ignition keys can be determined by accessing PID NUMKEYS with New Generation Star (NGS) tester.

Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Insert Ford Service Function (FSF) card in NGS tester. Insert new unprogrammed encoded ignition key into ignition lock cylinder and turn ignition switch to ON position. Using NGS tester, select PCM from menu. Perform security access procedure to obtain security access. See KEY PROGRAMMING - SECURITY ACCESS PROCEDURE  . Select IGNITION KEY CODE PROGRAM. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect NGS tester. New encoded ignition key should now be programmed and able to start vehicle.
