Disassembly And Assembly Of Subassemblies: Piston: Removal

CAUTION: Mark the position of the parts for installation in their original position.

Remove the piston rings.
1. Remove the top compression ring.
2. Remove the second compression ring.
3. Remove the oil control rings and spacer.

Remove the two piston pin retainers.

Using a hydraulic press, remove the piston pin.
1. Position the piston in a suitable holding fixture.
2. Using the special tool, remove the piston pin.
