61 71 100 Removing and installing/replacing windscreen washer pump

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

NOTE: Work is shown on the E70 by way of example. There may be differences in detail in the case of other vehicle models.
IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!
Carry out this operation carefully so as to avoid damaging the side panel.

Release screws.

Pull side panel forwards slightly.

Installation note: 

Tightening torque 41 35 7AZ (A-pillar area).

Tightening torque 41 35 8AZ (sill area).

NOTE: Side panel shown removed for purposes of clarity.
Catch any escaping washer fluid if necessary.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Pull windscreen washer pump (2) in direction of arrow out of fluid reservoir for windscreen washer system.

Disconnect hose plug connection (3) from windscreen washer pump (2).

Installation note: 

Replace strainer in windscreen washer pump.

Coat sealing ring (4) of windscreen washer pump (2) with lubricant.

Make sure hose is correctly routed.

Fill fluid reservoir.
