13 62 540 Removing And Installing/Replacing Throttle Valve Servomotor (S85)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release bolt on cable duct (1).

Release nut on cable duct (1).

Tighten to specified torque, see 12 52 3AZ in 52 CONNECTORS, PLUGS

Unlock plug in V-chamber and disconnect, lay cable duct (1) to one side.

NOTE: Illustration shows and description refers to the left throttle valve servomotor. The procedure is identical for the right filter housing.

Remove pull rod (1).

Unfasten screws.

Remove throttle valve servomotor (2).

IMPORTANT: After performing work on the throttle valve system (throttle valve assembly, servomotor, Hall sensor), it is absolutely essential to carry out a throttle valve actuator system test with the BMW diagnosis system!
Function selection:
  • Complete vehicle
  • Drive
  • Engine electronics
  • Air supply
  • Throttle valves
  • Throttle valve actuator
NOTE: Check stored fault messages.
Now clear the fault memory.
