61 31 232 Removing And Installing/Replacing Steering Wheel Module Control Unit (Sports Steering Wheel)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

NOTE: Illustration shows sports steering wheel removed.

Release screws (1).

Raise steering wheel retaining plate (2) slightly and disconnect plug connections (3).

Remove steering wheel retaining plate (2) from sports steering wheel (4).

Disconnect plug connections (1).

Installation: 

Make sure plug connections (1) and leads are correctly seated in mountings (2).

Pull steering wheel module control unit (3) in direction of arrow out of sports steering wheel (4).

Installation: 

Make sure steering wheel module control unit (3) is exactly seated in sports steering wheel (4).

Release screws (1).

Pull steering wheel element (2) downwards slightly and feed leads (3) through under steering wheel carrier (4).

If necessary, disconnect plug connection (5).

Remove steering wheel module control unit (6).

Installation: 

Ensure correct cable routing.
