61 71 016 Removing And Installing/Replacing A Jet Nozzle In Windshield Washer System

NOTE: The procedure for removing the left and right spray nozzles is different.

Removing left spray nozzle: 

Remove cover cap (1) in direction of arrow.

Installation: 

Make sure locks (1) are correctly engaged.

Unlock plug (2) and detach.

Release distributor (4) and detach from holder (3) towards top.

IMPORTANT: At low outside temperatures, carefully heat washer fluid line (1) in area of distributor (4) with hot air blower.
Otherwise distributor (4) may break off.

Detach washer fluid line (1) by turning.

Move wipers into fold-back position:

NOTE: Complete spray nozzle consists of: 
  • High-pressure nozzle
  • Washer fluid line
  • Multifunction element

The multifunction element acts as both the holder of the washer fluid line and cover for the wiper arm.

Unlock high-pressure nozzle (1) and remove in direction of arrow.

Installation: 

Make sure high-pressure nozzle (1) is correctly locked in wiper arm.

Release locks of multifunction element (2).

Remove multifunction element (2).

Feed out distributor through opening on wiper arm.

Installation: 

Make sure multifunction element (1) engages correctly in wiper arm (2).

Fold wiper arm back onto windshield.

NOTE: Spray nozzle cannot be adjusted.
IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!
Fold wiper arm onto windshield before turning on terminal "R" or ignition.
Switch on terminal "R".
Move windshield washer system into rest position by one touch wiping.

Removing right spray nozzle: 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Unlock high-pressure nozzle (1) and remove in direction of arrow.

Release locks of multifunction element (2).

Remove multifunction element (2).

Installation: 

Make sure high-pressure nozzle (1) and multifunction element (2) are correctly locked in wiper arm.

Unlock fitting (2) and detach from holder (1).

Unlock retainer (3) and remove.

Feed out washer fluid line (4).
