67 64 010 Removing And Installing/Replacing Drive Unit For Electric Steering Column Adjustment

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, graphic shows steering column removed.

Unlock plug housings (1) and remove from holder (2) in direction of arrow.

Disconnect plug connections (3).

IMPORTANT: Do not bend or twist drive shafts when removing!

Release screws (3) and feed out drive (1) in direction of arrow.

Installation: 

Replace screws (3).

Tightening torque. See STEERING AND WHEEL ALIGNMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES -- ALPINA .

Installation: 

Drive shafts must be inserted exactly in guides (2).

Check plastic bearings (1), replace if necessary.
