An adjustment of the fuel tank pressure sensor using the service function in diagnosis is necessary under the following conditions:

after deactivation of transport mode in the vehicle
after programming the engine control unit
after replacing the fuel pump (not F01, F02)

If the adjustment of the fuel tank pressure sensor is not performed, it may cause faulty diagnoses. Faulty diagnoses cause the emissions warning light to illuminate.

When adjusting the fuel tank pressure sensor the following should be observed:

Fuel tank capacity less than 85 %
Temperature in the fuel tank between 0 °C and 40 °C
Open fuel filler cap to ensure pressure compensation in the fuel tank to the environment
Ignition on, no engine start
