Failure of the component

If the fuel tank pressure sensor fails the following behavior can be expected:

• Fault entry in the engine control unit
• Lighting up of emissions warning light

  After the emissions warning light illuminates there is no other noticeable perception by the customer.

• As the pressure in the fuel tank can no longer be measured if the fuel tank pressure sensor fails, the fuel tank non-return valve is opened permanently as a protective function. Pressure compensation to the environment is thus guaranteed.
