61 35 196 Removing And Installing (Replacing) Control Unit For Automatic Rear Lid Actuation

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Disconnect battery negative lead. . See 61 20 900 DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY NEGATIVE LEAD .
Remove flap in right luggage compartment wheel arch trim. . See 51 47 161 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING RIGHT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH TRIM .

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Release nut (2) and remove control unit for automatic rear lid actuation (3).

Replacement:

Carry out coding/programming.

Observe following IDC specifications:
