Signal shape and setpoint values

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 45 other vehicles, including the 2016 BMW M5, 2016 BMW 550i xDrive, 2016 BMW 550i, 2016 BMW 535i xDrive, and 2016 BMW 535i. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The electronic evaluation unit digitizes the signal of the heating wire air mass flow sensor. This signal is then transferred pulse-width modulated to the DDE control unit. The signal quality for the air mass is temperature-dependent. High accuracy is required to precisely determine the air mass. This is why the air mass signal received in the engine control unit must be corrected with the signal of the intake air temperature sensor.
