13 62 601 Replacing Pulse Generator On Left Inlet Camshaft (S85)

(cylinder bank 6 to 10)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Read out fault memory of DME control unit; if necessary, work through test schedules
Switch off ignition
Remove left intake filter housing
Remove left ignition coil cover

Release plug connector (1) and pull off.

Release screw.

Remove pulse generator (2).

Installation:

Replace sealing ring and coat with antiseize agent.
