Except M5 & M6 With Sequential Manual Transmission

  1. Set the tire pressure of all wheels to specification.
  2. On iDrive Control Center, select "VEHICLE SETTINGS" or "VEHICLE/ TIRES", then press the controller.
  3. Select "FTM" and press the controller. The initialization menu appears. See Fig 1.
  4. Start the engine, but do not begin to drive.
  5. Select "SET TIRE PRESSURE" or "RESET" and press the controller.
  6. Drive vehicle. The message "INITIALIZING..." or "RESETTING FTM..." will be displayed.
    NOTE: It may take up to 10 minutes before the TPM system can detect and report a flat tire.
  7. The initialization is completed during driving. Then the message "STATUS: ACTIVE" appears on the Control Display. See Fig 1.
