Special Tools Required

Insert special tool 00 9 340  as illustrated and unclip lower area of control panel trim (1).

Insert special tool 00 9 340  as illustrated and unclip side section of control panel (1).

Detach control panel (1) and disconnect plug connections.

Installation: 

Make sure retaining clips (1) are fitted correctly.

If necessary, replace missing clips.

NOTE: The center console switch cluster (1) and the heater/air conditioner operator unit (2) are connected via the ribbon cable (4).

Replacement: 

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage to operator unit (3)!

Carefully unclip operator unit trim (1) at inner retaining points (2) only.

Carefully unclip operator unit trim (2) at outer retaining points (2) only.

Remove trim (1) from operator unit (3).

Carry out programming/coding  in BMW/MINI service functions in Progman.
