61 34... Removing and installing or replacing socket outlet in luggage compartment

Special tools required: 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

NOTE: Work is shown on the E71 by way of example. There may be differences in detail in the case of other vehicle models.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Release retaining lugs (2) with special tool 64 1 020  and feed socket frame (3) in direction of arrow out of luggage compartment panel (4).

Installation: 

Retaining lugs (2) must not be damaged or missing.

Feed in socket frame (3) first at bottom into luggage compartment panel (4) and then press down at top.

Make sure socket frame (3) is correctly seated on luggage compartment panel (4).

Unlock catches (1) with a suitable tool and press socket receptacle (2) in direction of arrow out of socket frame (3).

Installation: 

Catches (1) on socket receptacle (2) must not be damaged.

Make sure socket receptacle (2) is correctly seated in socket frame (3).

Unlock catches (1) with a suitable tool and press socket (2) in direction of arrow out of socket receptacle (3).

Installation: 

Catches (1) on socket receptacle (3) must not be damaged.

Make sure socket (2) is correctly seated in socket receptacle (3).
