SUBJECT

"Coasting" Feature May Not Function After Programming

SITUATION

After programming to I-level F056-14-11-50x or higher, "coasting" while in green mode may no longer function.

This feature is shown as activated in the green mode menu, and no relevant faults are stored.

CAUSE

An EGS software error (I-levels of F056-13-11-50x to F056-14-07-50x) leads to incorrect EEPROM data when programmed to an I-level of F056-14-11-50x or higher.

CORRECTION

With the release of ISTA/P 3.55.3 or higher, this situation will no longer occur.

Perform the "Coasting" service function on vehicles programmed with an earlier version of ISTA/P.

This test plan was introduced with ISTA 3.49.10 and is found with the following path:

Service Function / 01 Drive / Transmission control / Coasting

For those vehicles programmed prior to the release of this bulletin and then return at a later date to have this issue corrected, the following is the covered under the terms of the MINI New Passenger Car Limited Warranty or the MINI NEXT Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty.

If you are using a Main labor code for another repair, use the Plus code labor operation 00 00 556 instead.

Refer to KSD2 for the corresponding flat rate unit (FRU) allowances.

Work time labor operation code 61 00 006 is not considered a Main labor operation. Also, since the "work time" FRU allowance to be claimed is specified, a separate punch time is not required.
