65 12 320 Removing and installing (replacing) Head Unit Basis
Attention!
Risk of damage!
There is a hard disk installed in the head unit.
Carry out mechanical work on the head unit and adjacent components with vehicle care.
Avoid subjecting the head unit to vibration/shocks.
Attention!
Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .
Preliminary work needed:
- Remove CENTRAL INSTRUMENT .
- Disconnect NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE .
- Remove CENTER LEFT VENTILATION GRILLE .
- Remove CENTER RIGHT VENTILATION GRILLE .
REMOVAL:
The number of connectors may vary depending on the equipment specification.
Unlock plug connections (1) and disconnect. Unscrew the screws (2). Remove head unit (3).
The number of connectors may vary depending on the equipment specification.
Unlock plug connections (1) and disconnect. Unscrew the screws (2).
Remove head unit (3).
For replacement:
Unscrew the screws (1).
Take off holder (2).
INSTALLATION:
Position head unit (3).
Tighten down screws (2).
Join and lock all plug connections (1).
Only for US models with SDARS:
Additional work is required when replacing the head unit.
- Replace SDARS .
Required follow-up work:
- Install CENTRAL INSTRUMENT .
- Connect NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE .
For replacement:
Carry out PROGRAMMING/CODING .
Install the CORRECT NAVIGATION MAP .
Import the Service history:
