61 35 278 Removing/installing/replacing Body Domain Controller (BDC)

Preliminary work needed: 

Removal:

IMPORTANT: RISK OF DAMAGE to positive battery cable connector!

Unlock the positive battery cable connector: 

  1. Loosen lock (1) in arrow direction.
  2. Unfasten catch (2) on positive battery lead connector (3).
  3. Remove positive battery lead connector (3) in arrow direction.

Unlock and disconnect all connectors (1) in marked area.

Release detents and pull control unit BDC (2) to the side out of holder.

Installation:

Join control unit BDC (2) to the side in holder. Connect all connectors (1) in marked area.

NOTE: Ensure control unit BDC (2) is correctly engaged in holder.

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage to positive battery cable connector!

Lock positive battery cable connector: 

  1. Join positive battery cable connector (3) against arrow direction.
  2. Lock detent (2) to positive battery cable connector (3).
  3. Close lock (1) against arrow direction.

When replacing the BDC: 

Carry out PROGRAMMING/CODING .

Required follow-up work:
