Installing the engine wiring harness for sensor system 1

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Improper routing of cables and wiring harnesses.
Trapped, crushed or damaged cables may cause short circuits and malfunctions.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Detents, guides and mounting elements must not be damaged or missing.

Feed in and install the engine wiring harness (1) for the sensor system 1 .
Connect and lock the connector of the DME control unit.
Connect and lock the connector of the integrated power supply module (PDM).
Attach the connector of charging pressure sensor on the intake air plenum and lock.
Connect and lock the connector for the heat management module.
Attach and lock the connector for the coolant temperature sensor on the cylinder head.
Connect and lock the connectors for the knock sensors.
Attach and lock the connector for the temperature sensor on the cylinder head.
Connect and lock the connector for the oil pressure switch.
Attach and lock the connector for the hydraulic valve.
Connect and lock the connector for the crankshaft sensor.
Connect the connector of the boost pressure sensor to the throttle valve and lock.
Attach connector throttle valve and lock.
Connect and lock the connector for the alternator.
Connect and lock the connector for the air conditioning compressor.
Attach the connector for the coolant temperature sensor on the radiator and lock.
Make sure that all connectors engage audibly.

Feed in the wiring harness section (2) for the sensor system 1 and position.

Tighten the screws (1) .

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS

Wiring harness section for sensor system 1 to cylinder head
M6X16	Tightening torque	8 Nm

Tighten down screw (3) .

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS

Ground cable to cylinder head
M6x12	Tightening torque	8 Nm

Feed in and install coolant line (1) .

Insert and install the holder (2) .
Make sure that the lock (1) engages audibly.

Insert and install the wiring harness section (3) in the guide (2) .
Ensure that the lock engages audibly.

Insert and install the wiring harness section (2) for the Valvetronic servomotor in the direction of the arrow.
Ensure that the locks (1) engage audibly.

Feed in wiring harness section (3) for injectors and ignition coils in arrow direction and install.
Ensure that the lock engages audibly.
Insert and install the positive battery cable (1) .

Insert and install the positive battery cable (2) on the holder (3) .
Insert and install the battery positive terminal (1) .

Tighten the battery positive terminal (1) .

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS

Positive battery terminal to battery
Nut M6	Tightening torque	5 Nm

Connect and lock the connector (1) .
Make sure the connector (1) engages audibly.

Connect connector (1) in the direction of the arrow and lock.

Connect and lock the connector (1) .

Insert and install the connector (1) to the E-box (2) in the direction of the arrow.

Insert and install the cover panel (2) in the guides (3) in the direction of the arrow.
Ensure that the cover panel (2) audibly engages in the guides (3) .

Tighten down screw (1) .

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS

Cover panel to E-box
RF5x26.5	Tightening torque	2.5 Nm
