CAUTION: Do not plug the vent hole in the rack with grease.
  1. Apply a coating of multipurpose grease to the rack assembly teeth face.

  2. Cover rack serrations with special tool MB991213.
  3. Apply DIAMOND ATF to special tool MB991213.
    CAUTION: When inserting the rack, carefully push in while aligning the center of oil seal and the tip of special tool MB991213 so that the oil seal retainer spring does not fall out.
  4. Align center of oil seal with rack to prevent retainer spring from slipping. Slowly insert rack from power cylinder side.
