Auxiliary Air Control (AAC) Valve System Test

  1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and AAC valve harness connector Black/Red wire. Battery voltage should be present. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check for open harness and connectors between AAC valve harness connector and ignition switch. Also check Green fusible link and 10-amp fuse. Repair or replace as necessary.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM harness connector. Check continuity between ECM harness connector terminal No. 4 (Green/Blue wire) and corresponding wire of AAC valve harness connector. Continuity should exist. If continuity does not exist, repair open harness or connectors. If continuity exists, check AAC valve. See AUXILIARY AIR CONTROL (AAC) VALVE  . If AAC valve is okay, check ECM terminals, harness, and connector terminals for damage or corrosion. Repair as necessary.
