DTC P0450 - EVAP Control System Pressure Sensor
- Check Power Supply
Turn ignition off. Disconnect EVAP control system pressure sensor harness connector. See Fig 1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between sensor harness connector terminal No. 3 (Green/Red wire) and ground. If about 5 volts are present, go to next step. If about 5 volts are not present, repair harness or connectors between sensor and ECM.
- Check Ground Circuit
Turn ignition off. Loosen and retighten engine ground screws. Check for continuity between EVAP control system pressure sensor terminal No. "1" and engine ground. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair harness or connectors between sensor and ECM or between sensor and A/T control unit.
- Check Output Signal Circuit
Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM harness connector. Check harness continuity between EVAP control system pressure sensor connector terminal No. 2 (Green wire) and ECM connector terminal No. 67. See Fig 2. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair harness or connectors between sensor and ECM.
- Check Component
Remove EVAP control system pressure sensor leaving harness connected. Apply vacuum pump to sensor's vacuum port. See Fig 3. Measure voltage between sensor terminal No. 2 and engine ground. Voltage should be 3.0-3.6 volts. While measuring voltage between sensor terminal No. 2 and engine ground, apply 2.75 in Hg. Voltage should be 0.4-0.6 volts. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, replace EVAP control system pressure sensor.
- Disconnect ECM harness connector. Check ECM pin terminals for damage or corrosion. Check all circuit connectors for clean, tight fit. If fault is still present, replace EVAP control system pressure sensor.
