DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Infiniti G35. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Use this procedure to check overall function of HO2S2 circuit. During this check, a DTC might not be confirmed.
  1. Start engine and warm up to normal operating temperature.
  2. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds.
  3. Start engine and keep engine speed at 3500-4000 RPM for at least one minute under no load.
  4. Let engine idle for one minute.
  5. Backprobe between engine ground and ECM harness connector F101 terminals No. 88 (HO2S2 bank 1 signal) or No. 90 (HO2S2 bank 2 signal).
  6. Check voltage while revving engine up to 4000 RPM under no load at least 10 times. Depress and release accelerator pedal as soon as possible. Voltage should be less than 0.48 volt at least once during this procedure. If voltage reading is not as specified, keep vehicle idling for 10 minutes, then check voltage, or check voltage when coasting from 50 MPH (80 km/h) in "D" position. If voltage reading is not as specified, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  .
