DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)

NOTE:
If a DTC confirmation test has been previously performed, turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before performing next DTC confirmation test.
NOTE:
Before performing test, ensure fuel tank level is 1/4-3/4 and vehicle is on flat level surface. Always perform test when ambient temperature is 32-86°F (0-32°C).
- Start engine. Drive vehicle according to specified driving pattern to set System Readiness Test (SRT) codes. See SYSTEM READINESS TEST under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Stop vehicle and go to next step.
- Select MODE 1 on scan tool and check SRT status of EVAP system. If SRT of EVAP system SRT is not set yet, turn ignition off, wait at least 10 seconds and go to next step. If SRT of EVAP system SRT is set, system is okay at this time.
- Drive vehicle again according to specified driving pattern to set System Readiness Test (SRT) codes. See SYSTEM READINESS TEST under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Select MODE 3 on scan tool. If DTC P0442 is set, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If DTC P0441 is set, go to DTC P0441: EVAP CONTROL SYSTEM INCORRECT PURGE FLOW . If DTC P0441 and P0442 are not set, go to next step.
- Select MODE 1 on scan tool and check SRT status of EVAP system. If SRT of EVAP system SRT is not set, return to step 2 . If SRT of EVAP system SRT is set, system is okay at this time.
NOTE:
It is not necessary to allow engine to cool before driving vehicle.
