Possible Causes

NOTE: If DTC P1564 is displayed with DTC P0605, first perform trouble diagnosis for DTC P0605. See DTC P0605: ENGINE CONTROL MODULE .

MIL will not light up for this diagnosis. Malfunction is detected when the following occurs:

An excessively high voltage signal from ASCD steering switch is sent to ECM.
ECM detects that input signal from ASCD steering switch is out of specified range.
ECM detects that ASCD steering switch is stuck on.

Possible causes are:

Harness or connectors (switch circuit is open or shorted).
Defective ASCD steering switch.
Defective ECM.
