Code 39, TCC Not Engaging: Notes

Code will set if Codes 24, 26, 27, 28, 31, 32, 34, 56 and 75 not set, transaxle is in 3rd or 4th gear, engine is running, TCC is commanded on, transaxle is not in Park or Neutral, slip speed is 48 RPM or greater for 4.5 seconds, throttle switch is open and delivered torque is 20-508 ft. lbs.

1. Checks brake pedal's ability to open and close circuit.
2. Checks PCM input and brake switch power supply circuits for an open.
3. Checks to see if brake pedal is out of adjustment. If okay, input circuit may be shorted to voltage.
4. Checks for power at terminal "U" of engine harness.
5. Checks TCC PWM solenoid driver circuit between PCM and transaxle terminal "T". Test light must increase in brightness as PWM increases to 50 percent duty cycle.
6. Checks transaxle harness and TCC solenoid for opens. If an open circuit is found, replace transaxle harness.
