Code 41, No Camshaft Signal From Ignition Module: Notes

Code will set if Code 12 is not set, cam reference pulse is not received for 5.3 seconds, 4X reference pulses are being received and engine speed is 1600 RPM or less.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. Checks if Code 35 is also set. Reference low problem could cause multiple codes.
  2. Sensor resistance should be 800-2100 ohms. If resistance is greater, check for open. If less, check for short to ground or each other.
  3. Checks cam position sensor circuits for short to ground.
  4. If sensor is able to produce a DC voltage greater than 0.2 volt, sensor is okay.
  5. With engine running, a signal greater than 4 hertz shows ignition module is producing CAM pulses.
  6. Checks for circuit fault or faulty ignition module.
