Diagnostic Aids
Perform Tech 1 TPS/idle learn procedure. Ensure nothing touches or interferes with accelerator pedal, A/C is off and no power steering load exists during learn procedure.
Code may be set due to disconnecting battery before TP sensor/idle learn values are stored in EEPROM (within 30 seconds of key off). Code may also be set by an incorrect or intermittent signal from TP sensor, closed throttle switch, VSS, transaxle range switch, power steering pressure switch or brake switch. A condition which causes a rough or unsteady idle may also cause code to set.
