Code 88, TCC Not Disengaged: Notes

Code will set if Codes 21, 22, 28 and 56 are not set, engine is running, transaxle is not in Park or Neutral, throttle angle is 11 degrees or greater, TCC is commanded off, 3rd or 4th gear is commanded and slip speed is -5 to 10 RPM for 4 seconds.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. Checks ground circuit of engine side of harness to see if it is shorted to ground.
  2. Checks ground circuit of transaxle side of harness to see if it is shorted to ground.
