Code 95, Engine Stall Detected
Code will set if engine speed is initially over 400 RPM, engine speed drops to zero and ignition has not been turned off. If other codes are set, diagnose those codes first. If stall is present, check the following:
- Check fuel delivery system, including steady pressure during stall
- Check PCM power and ground circuits.
- Check ISC system.
- Check power steering pressure switch and circuits.
- Check A/C clutch operation.
- Check for intermittent TP sensor.
- Check EGR operation, including intermittent short to ground in driver circuit.
- Check evaporative emission system.
- Check for intermittent ignition battery feed.
- Check for intermittent open or short to grounding ignition module wiring.
- Check TCC operation.
- Check for intermittent ignition.
Inspect harness connectors for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals, poor terminal-to-wire connections or damaged harness.
Perform intermittent check by monitoring circuit and code status while wiggling related wiring and connectors. If failure is induced, monitored circuit status will change rapidly and/or related code will set.
