One Position Does Not Set Or Recall
NOTE:
After repair or component replacement is completed, perform appropriate MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING
to verify system is functioning properly.
- Perform appropriate MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING . Go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Ground memory seat diagnostic connector, located under driver seat. Memory seat/mirror module will chime once to indicate Mode 1 has been entered. Remove ground from memory seat diagnostic connector, and within 5 seconds, ground memory seat diagnostic connector again. Module will chime 2 times to indicate Mode 2 has been entered. Operate seat and mirrors in all directions. Module will chime once at each open, shorted or faulty position sensor or circuit. If any seat switch positions caused memory seat/mirror module chime to sound, go to next step. If any seat switch position did not cause memory seat/mirror module to sound, go to step 8).
- Check for open or short in appropriate wire between memory seat/memory mirror module and position sensors. See IDENTIFYING POSITION SENSOR CIRCUITS
table. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If circuit is not okay, go to step 7).IDENTIFYING POSITION SENSOR CIRCUITS

- Check for open in Black wire between appropriate seat position sensor and splice S332, or between mirror position sensor and splice S331. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If circuit is not okay, go to step 7).
- Replace inoperative position sensor.
- Repair open in appropriate wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- System is functioning properly. Perform appropriate MEMORY SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If symptom still exists, replace memory seat/mirror module. See MEMORY SEAT/MIRROR MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
